Hey folks, welcome to Peak of the Week. This newsletter is focused on helping you learn more about skiing, hiking, and the mountains in general. I’m based in Colorado, so most of the content will focus on the ranges and peaks of the Centennial state, but as I travel around and get to explore mountains around the US (and maybe even the world), I’ll be sharing information on those as well.

What should I expect?

Every Wednesday morning I share the latest from my own adventures, history that I’ve researched, and stories related to mountain culture. I’ll also include any tips or info from my own hikes so your time in the mountains can be as enjoyable as possible.

And why should I listen to you?

Fair question.

I’ve climbed a number of Colorado’s 14ers, and many of the notable peaks in Utah and California. I grew up ski racing and in the 22/23 winter, skied at every Epic Pass and Ikon Pass resort in Colorado. I’ve also done all this while having a 9-5, so I know a thing or two about fighting the weekend traffic and making the logistics of these trips work as well. These days I spend my free time either in the mountains, learning more about the history of mountain towns and ski resorts, or researching the people who make these places into what they are today.

Lastly, you can see the most up to date info on my trips via Instagram, @codylwheat, and if you have any questions or topics you think I should cover feel free to email me directly!

Stay tuned, I can’t wait to share my next story with you soon!
